Stephen M. Sentovich, M.D., joined City of Hope in 2014 and serves as the Chief of the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery.  He has been named multiple times as one of “America’s Top Doctors” both here and in Boston where he was the Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Boston Medical Center for 15 years.

Dr. Sentovich received his medical degree from University of California, Los Angeles and completed his residency at University of California, Irvine.  After a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery, he began his career teaching at Harvard Medical School.  He later moved to Boston Medical Center where in addition to maintaining a very busy clinical practice he completed a Masters in Business Administration, with honors, from Boston University’s School of Management.

Known for providing the highest quality care for his patients, Dr. Sentovich is a recognized authority on colon and rectal cancer having published dozens of articles and served as associate editor for the medical journal Diseases of the Colon & Rectum.
