With more than two decades of experience, Farhang Rabbani, M.D., F.R.C.S.C., brings his dedication, compassion and expertise to working with cancer patients at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta. A board-certified urologist, Dr. Rabbani specializes in diagnosing and treating urologic conditions such as kidney, bladder, prostate and testicular cancer using advanced, minimally invasive techniques such as nerve-sparing prostatectomy, cystectomy with neobladder reconstruction and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection.
Dr. Rabbani attended medical school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He then completed an internship in London, Ontario, a urology residency at the University of British Columbia and a three-year fellowship in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he also served as an attending physician for a decade. Prior to joining City of Hope, he held multiple leadership positions at top cancer institutions across New York state.
A physician, scholar and educator, Dr. Rabbani has served as an instructor at institutions including Weill-Cornell Medical Center, SUNY-Downstate Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. His research has been published extensively in peer-reviewed publications such as Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Journal of Urology, with more than 80 studies and 25 book chapters to his name. Dr. Rabbani has been recognized by multiple organizations and publications for his excellent clinical and scholarly work. These awards include being named the American Foundation for Urologic Disease/Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Scholar and being included in “Best Doctors in America” and “Top Oncologists” lists.
Dr. Rabbani is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Urological Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Society of Urologic Oncology and the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group.
