Dragic will be keeping his focus on Phoenix, where City of Hope houses one of its eight regional philanthropy offices. He'll be lending support through events, social media and other fundraising efforts.
"This has been a phenomenal year, both professionally and personally. I am so grateful for my family, friends, fans and health. It has been the best year of my life: I got married, welcomed my son and enjoyed career bests," said Dragic.
"I also became a Citizen of Hope to help build awareness of City of Hope as a global leader in the fight against cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. I lost my grandmother to cancer eight years ago and experienced firsthand the effects a terrible disease can have on a family. I am honored to support City of Hope in the Phoenix community."
Dragic was a guest of honor at the Spirit of Hope Celebration Ball this spring. Additionally, he was named the NBA's KIA Most Improved Player of 2014, voted by a panel of 126 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the U.S. and Canada. As part of his recognition, Kia Motors America donated a new KIA Sorento LX CUV to City of Hope's Southwest regional office, on behalf of Dragic.
