Arthur Riggs Ph.D., to be named Honorary Lion
In February, City of Hope renamed its preeminent diabetes research center the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute in honor of its longtime director and research pioneer Arthur Riggs, Ph.D., the Samuel Rahbar Chair in Diabetes & Drug Discovery. Dr. Arthur Riggs was invited by the Lions Club of Montebello to be an honorary member for his extraordinary contribution and incredible advancements in the fight against diabetes. He was approved by the club’s Board of Directors and will be officially entered into LCI’s club roster as an honorary member.
Lions host Drive-Through Lobster Fest and Virtual Diabetes Seminar
This past November, the Peninsula Special Interest Lions Club hosted their Annual Diabetes Lobster Fest and all proceeds were donated to City of Hope. In previous years, this event has been held indoors, but due to limitations stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the C4 Lions Club members had to adapt, so for the first time, the lobster fest was held as a drive-through!
