In November 2016, graduate students were polled anonymously and were asked, “Besides your personal work space, where are your favorite places on campus to work?” They responded:
The Graff Medical and Scientific Library – both the main space and individual study rooms – is a clear favorite for graduate students to work. Reasons for choosing these may include the accessibility and on-site resources (e.g., power outlets, computer and printing stations, and private study rooms) in the library. The second preferred area was the graduate student study room next to the classroom. Judging from the results, it seems that students like a quiet place to study. And so, it comes as no surprise that students did not vote for the loud cafeteria.
