Academic Degree Programs

At the Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences at City of Hope, you’ll be pursuing a Ph.D. or a Master's Degree with a world leader in the research and treatment of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. At City of Hope, grad students can participate in breakthrough research with global implications.

Through rigorous coursework and laboratory research, you’ll be training in an academically stimulating, collaborative and diverse environment. You’ll be challenged to apply your creativity, curiosity and talent to advancing understanding of the complexities of the life sciences and to applying research discoveries in pursuit of treatments and cures.

Graduate School History

City of Hope’s commitment to education led to the creation of the Graduate School of Biological Sciences, with the first class of students entering in 1994. The graduate school is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
