Jim, esophageal cancer survivor
“Cancer is a disease, not a death sentence,” said Jim Murphy, who wasn’t going to let esophageal cancer slow him down. With the encouragement from his doctors at City of Hope, he continued biking and skiing throughout his treatment. Jim chose City of Hope because “what impressed me is the research right here on campus. If they have something experimental, it goes from the researcher, right to the doctor, right to you.” Jim beat his cancer, and today he is still skiing, riding his bike, and working. If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with cancer, we can help. Call 800-826-HOPE (4673) for an appointment or second opinion. Our multidisciplinary team of experts and personal care team can take you through your options.
