Joseph Chang, M.D., originally set out to become a commercial pilot and even received his license. Then life took a different path. Losing an aunt to breast cancer motivated him to consider becoming a doctor. After spending time as a hospital volunteer, “I knew it was my calling,” he says.
Dr. Chang specializes in anesthesiology, working with critical care patients. “I have a passion in taking care of patients who require an intense amount of attention.”
Dr. Chang earned his medical degree at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and completed his anesthesiology residency at Keck Medical Center of USC.
As a student, Dr. Chang visited City of Hope and was “touched and inspired” by the people who work here. He’s excited to be part of the City of Hope team.
