Dr. Weng received his undergraduate and medical degrees at UCLA. He completed his residency at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he developed expertise in advanced radiation therapy techniques including MRI-guidance, adaptive therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and stereotactic body radiation therapy. During his residency, he received multiple awards including the prestigious ASCO Conquer Cancer Quality Care and Thomas Buchholz Legacy of Leadership Awards.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Weng is actively involved in research with the goal of optimizing the effectiveness of radiation therapy and improving patient quality of life. He has led clinical trials investigating the combination of radiation and immunotherapy as well as leveraging the use of MRI-guidance for high-risk tumors. Dr. Weng has authored multiple book chapters and publications in medical journals including JCO Precision Oncology, JAMA Network, and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics.
Dr. Weng is a Southern California native and is honored to provide care to the local community he cherishes. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, son, and two dogs.
