Laurie L. Brunette, M.D.
Laurie Brunette, MD, is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist who is an expert in surgical cytoreduction of cancer and in the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic surgery and fertility-preserving procedures. She also administers systemic treatment such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and personalized targeted therapies.
The author and co-author of dozens of research articles, books, and presentations, Dr. Brunette’s research concentrates on screening and early detection of multiple gynecologic cancers including ovarian, cervical, vulvar, and uterine. She actively incorporates new technologies and medications into her patients’ treatment plans.
Previously, Dr. Brunette served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Southern California, and was the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program Director. While there, she earned numerous teaching awards including The Earl Henriksen Award for Outstanding Attending Physician in 2019 and The Lester T. Hibbard, MD Award for outstanding contributions to OB/GYN resident training in 2022.
Dr. Brunette graduated medical school from the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California, receiving the prestigious Order of Areté, the highest honor for graduate students. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of California Los Angeles, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Southern California. During her residency, she participated in a medical mission to Uganda, focusing on repair of urinary fistulas alongside fellow gynecologic specialists.
