Susan Brown, Chief Nursing Officer

Welcome to the City of Hope Nursing homepage. Nurses at the City of Hope are dedicated to, and passionate about, the provision of compassionate cancer and diabetes care. But we recognize that our professional nursing practice goes way beyond caring.  As oncology nurses we are clinically excellent in one of the most complex nursing specialties.  We utilize critical thinking, clinical judgment and scientific inquiry to ensure both optimal care and patient/family outcomes.

Please enjoy exploring the contributions nurses have made both internally at City of Hope and have disseminated locally, nationally and internationally.  As you review the different links, you will find evidence of transformational leadership at all levels, nursing innovations that occur out of necessity and creativity as well as best practices in the care of our very special patient population.

OUR MISSION:

To uphold the integrity of the profession by providing compassionate, quality, safe and innovative care with our patients and families.
Magnet Recognized - American Nurses Credentialing Center badge

At City of Hope, scientists, researchers, physicians and nurses interact daily to share ideas and discuss real-world results. Nurses here collaborate closely with renowned clinicians, including surgeons and specialists who advance cancer, HIV and diabetes treatments throughout the nation. With advanced nursing leadership development, a robust collaborative governance structure and focus on clinical innovation in surgical, inpatient and outpatient settings, nurses have the support to develop the practice they envision.
