City of Hope earns one of nursing’s highest honors

Magnet Recognized - American Nurses Credentialing Center badge

City of Hope and its nursing team have achieved Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Given only after a rigorous assessment of a hospital or medical center, Magnet recognition is one of the highest honors in nursing and a global recognition of the cancer center’s outstanding commitment to excellence in health care delivery and improvement of patient outcomes.

"Achieving Magnet recognition is not the end of our journey. It is only the beginning of how we will ‘be’ for the next 100 years.  Magnet designation recognizes current quality, excellence and outcomes but sets out the expectation for continuously raising the bar and exceeding standards. Continued Magnet designation (we will repeat the process every 4 years) in an ongoing journey to improvement – improvement in ourselves as nursing professionals, improvement in the care we deliver to our patients and their families, and improvement in our contributions to our communities and society. The Magnet Recognition Program provides an ongoing roadmap to nursing excellence, which benefits the whole of an organization."
