Caregivers, Family, and Friends

It's natural for a family member, friend or caregiver to get wrapped up in a patient’s needs. Yet that’s when it is especially important for him or her to look after their own well-being.

By supporting members of a patient’s own supportive network, we help these caregivers sustain their personal energy and outlook. That’s crucial when accompanying a patient along the often stressful and uncertain path of cancer treatment. Through the Patient, Family and Community Education team, City of Hope doctors, nurses and health educators work to empower patients and families to be active and engaged in their care, at the hospital and at home.

Our volunteers who freely give of their time and effort throughout City of Hope provide a special dimension of care and support for those who need it most.
