Physician Insurance FAQs
Dictations of clinical services and treatments received at City of Hope are available to allow physicians to stay informed about the care a patient is receiving. The patient must give consent prior to the release of any medical information. Referring physicians may also contact the physician's office at any time during treatment. Call the City of Hope operator at 626-256-HOPE (4673) to be connected.
City of Hope will work with your patient and his or her insurance to verify benefits and coverage before the patient's scheduled visit to City of Hope. The patient can also contact Financial Support Services at 626-256-HOPE, ext. 62715.
If you are not currently contracted for hospital/technical services with City of Hope National Medical Center, and you either wish to establish a letter of agreement for your member, or you wish to explore the possibility of a contract or agreement, please contact the Managed Care Department at 626-256-HOPE (4673), ext. 86850.
City of Hope National Medical Center and the City of Hope Medical Foundation are distinct, separate entities. City of Hope National Medical Center contracts for hospital/technical services only. City of Hope Medical Foundation contracts for professional services only.
If you practice in the United States, please call us at 800-COH-4DRS (264-4377) or visit the refer a patient page.
Physicians from outside the U.S. can also refer a patient by calling 800-826-HOPE or by visiting the refer a patient page. Because of the level of detail necessary to make an evaluation, as well as time differences, it may be preferable to use email as your first contact. Please be prepared to provide a complete clinical history so a treatment plan can be prepared and tentative cost can be evaluated.
Note that international patients will be responsible for 100 percent of anticipated charges before an appointment for consultation can be scheduled.
