Fiji Simmons, B.S.N., R.N.. P.H.N., is a nurse coordinator for interventional pain management in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine.
 
Since earning her B.S.N. degree from University of Phoenix in 2006, Simmons has worked at a number of institutions where she has been involved with critical care training, telemetry and hospice care. Her versatile experience has contributed to the clinical and administrative roles she plays at City of Hope.
 
In recognition of her commitment to the field of nursing and her tireless work ethic, Simmons was recently chosen for the 2017 Daisy Nursing Award. She is also a member of the American Society of Pain Management, Nursing National and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (Southern California Chapter).
 
This recognition has not stopped Simmons from continuing to advance her knowledge and skill set. She is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing degree program with a focus on family practice and the subspecialty of acute and chronic pain management.
 
Such dedication demonstrates Simmon's commitment to the profession of nursing. What she enjoys most about her work is the ability to wake up every day, go to work and make a difference in the lives of patients, as well as help educate others in comprehensive and compassionate care.
 
Born and bred a California girl, Simmons lives in Ontario, California, and enjoys making time for hiking, traveling, meditation, dancing in her workouts and weekly spiritual church gatherings. A sociable person, she never misses her weekly dinner with family and close friends.
