I wanted nothing more than to care for people at their most vulnerable time of medical need.
Geetika Bhatt, M.D., is determined to make a difference in the lives of older cancer patients, whom she calls “the most vulnerable, but the least cared for.” She’s focused her research on finding better ways to treat blood cancers in older adults.

Educated in India, Dr. Bhatt received her medical degree at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, Mangalore, India. She continued her training with a residency at University of Louisville, Kentucky, specialized education at the International Society of Geriatric Oncology in Treviso, Italy, and a hematology/oncology fellowship at The Ohio State University.

A firm believer that “education is not a preparation for life, education IS life,” Dr. Bhatt is eager to join the City of Hope team. “City of Hope has been a pioneer in the field of oncology research,” she says, “making a huge difference in our knowledge and in the lives of millions of patients. It is truly a center of excellence.”
