John J. Park, M.D., Ph.D., is the chief of the Division of Interventional Radiology, which aims to treat cancer using image-guided and minimally or non-invasive procedures. These procedures can diagnose and treat cancers, as well as alleviate side effects from other treatments.
Dr. Park is particularly focused on highly-precise, minimally-invasive treatments that are traditionally hard to access with surgery or radiation therapy. These therapies include the NanoKnife, which uses advanced imaging to guide an electrical probe to the tumor site to kill cancerous cells, and focused delivery of high-dose chemotherapy and radiation therapy through a guided catheter.
Dr. Park received his medical and doctorate degrees from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and completed his radiology residency and interventional radiology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center.
