As general counsel, Gregory Schetina is chief lawyer for City of Hope and its affiliated entities, including the medical center, Beckman Research Institute and the medical foundation. He oversees and directs the provision of legal advice and legal representation for City of Hope, including with respect to issues relating to health care, regulatory compliance, labor and employment, intellectual property protection and patent and trademark portfolio management, and litigation. Schetina oversees the Corporate Compliance program and Internal Audit.  He also designs and directs City of Hope's insurance program.

As corporate secretary, Schetina advises the boards and oversees the office of the board of directors. Formerly a partner with the law firms of Jones Day and Tuttle and Taylor, Schetina received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley (Great Distinction in General Scholarship; Phi Beta Kappa) and his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Schetina also served as a federal prosecutor in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
