Dr. Shapiro earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University, before completing a post-baccalaureate premedical program at the University of Southern California. She went on to receive her medical doctorate from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In 2013, Dr. Shapiro completed a residency in psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, Keck School of Medicine of USC, where she was chief resident. After graduation, she stayed on as faculty on the Consultation/Liaison service before pursuing opportunities in private practice and with the Department of Mental Health.
Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Shapiro’s major areas of focus include psycho-oncology, women’s mental health and addiction behaviors.
