Sumita Bhatia, M.D., considers it an honor to work with cancer patients, a realization that came to her during medical school when she observed the courage of people in hospice care.

Dr. Bhatia received her radiation oncology training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She completed her medical school at University of Missouri-Kansas City. She also completed an internship at UCLA Medical Center and has done research at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The much-honored Dr. Bhatia is regularly listed in the SuperDoctors list of outstanding physicians. She's published many peer-reviewed articles, including works on esophageal and gastrointestinal cancers.
