Songs of Hope honors music industry stars, benefits City of Hope

On June 11, City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry held its 11th Annual Songs of Hope event at the House of Fair (the estate of Ron Fair and Stefanie Ridel). With 300 guests in attendance and over $300,000 raised to benefit City of Hope, this star-studded evening included acoustic performances by Natalie Cole, Aloe Blacc, Avery Wilson and Priscilla Renea.
Music industry legend Clive Davis presented the “Legend in Songwriting Award” to Burt Bacharach and honorees Charli XCX received the “Vanguard Award,” Christophe Beck was given the “Electronic Arts Composer Award,, Natalie Cole received the “Songs of Hope XI Hitmaker Award” and Aloe Blacc was awarded the “Songs of Hope XI Contemporary Songwriter” honor.
The evening featured silent auction items including signed scores from "Schindler’s List," handwritten lyrics and sheet music from "Frozen" and many other priceless items. The online auction consisted of autographed guitars by artists such as Bon Jovi, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber.
To date, Songs of Hope has raised nearly $3.5 million supporting research and treatment at City of Hope.
