Three questions to ask your doctor when diagnosed with cancer
September 7, 2016 | by Denise Heady
Cancer is a complex disease. And for patients, their cancer journey has many complexities.
There are more than 100 different types of cancer that have many different causes, ranging from gene mutations to viruses, and treatment for the disease will vary by the individual.
Regardless of which type of cancer you are diagnosed with, asking your doctor the right questions about your disease and possible treatment options is vital in ensuring you get the right care for your specific diagnosis.
However, with the tremendous amount of information available online, it can often be overwhelming to shift through all the “right” materials.
On a recent segment of “KTLA 5 Morning News,” City of Hope neurosurgeon and scientist Rahul Jandial, M.D., Ph.D., shares three questions that are essential to ask when first diagnosed and why he wishes more patients would ask them.

Jandial can also be reached on social media here: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and @realdrjandial on Snapchat.
