Twinkle Chandak, M.D.

Twinkle Chandak, M.D., F.C.C.P., is a specialist in pulmonology and critical care medicine and assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at City of Hope. Dr. Chandak received her medical degree from the Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, India. She previously worked at teaching hospitals in Southern California with UCI and UCLA affiliation and lead the pulmonary division at Berkshire Medical Center in Massachusetts. Dr. Chandak’s areas of expertise include lung cancer and diagnostics. As an advanced interventional bronchoscopist, she performs procedures including endobronchial ultrasound , cryobiopsy and CT navigation bronchoscopy for lung nodule diagnosis. She also undertakes therapeutic procedures such as tumor debulking with lasers, foreign body retrieval and bronchial thermoplasty for severe asthma. As a fellow of the American College of Chest physicians, and an active member of Society of Critical care medicine, Californian and American thoracic society, she has a number of research publications and abstracts to her credit. Dr. Chandak is committed to excellent patient care and strives to improve clinical outcomes by incorporating innovation and evidence-based medicine. Dr. Chandak grew up in Mumbai, where she said she was troubled by the economic and health disparities she witnessed. “It gives me immense satisfaction to care for minority patient population, homeless individuals, the elderly without family support, and patients with poor access to health care, particularly during the Covid pandemic,” she says. She is fluent in Hindi, Marathi and Rajasthani. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, hiking and biking with her young boys.
