City of Hope®, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, is an innovative biomedical research, treatment, and educational institution guided by a philosophy of patient-directed compassion and national humanitarian philanthropy, a long-term commitment to physician education and training across multiple specialties with a strong focus on malignancy.

City of Hope is an integrated, interdisciplinary team of compassionate experts who provide patient- and family-centered care, develop and lead innovative, evidence-based programs that improve health outcomes, financial metrics, and best practices, and support the work of doctors, nurses, and other staff. We utilize a staff leadership model that maximizes the influence and creativity of all staff members. We see every interaction as having the potential to enrich lives. The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at City of Hope is designed to train world-class physicians in the specialized care of patients with cancer throughout the cancer journey, from diagnosis through survivorship to end-of-life care. Provide graduates with the skills necessary to provide hospital-based, ambulatory, and home-based palliative and hospice care for symptom management for all palliative-appropriate conditions. Approach each patient—regardless of diagnosis, social status, race, gender, or creed—as a whole individual with specific needs, hopes, and goals.
