Denice Economou is an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist who is currently a senior research specialist at City of Hope and Project Director for Survivorship Education in Quality Cancer Care. A $1.4 million NCI grant to train professional caregivers in the needs experienced by cancer survivors. She was formerly with Aptium Oncology where she managed pain & palliative care for the company. Denice was the nurse coordinator for the cancer pain management service at Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center for seven years, and an Oncology Nurse Educator providing education to nurses, patients and administrators on specific symptoms and pain management. Denice is a founding Board member of the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative, as well as an oncology faculty member for the End of Life Nursing Education Consortium. She continues to lecture for the Pain Resource Nursing program through the City of Hope. Denice is also past president of the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society.
