Karin N., Breast Cancer Stage 3A | City of Hope
Discovering that I had options for cancer treatment was very empowering for me. Realizing that I can get a second opinion, as many opinions as I want, really, was vital to my recovery. I found a place that gave me the knowledge that I needed. Later, when it came to addressing the lymphedema, City of Hope was right there at the leading edge, offering the right treatment.”

Cancer Clinical Trials

Clinical studies evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new approaches to treating cancer, either with new drug development, new technologies or by using existing treatments in new ways. New treatments often take years of study before they win regulatory approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). While the trials take their course, they often offer participating patients new options that may otherwise be unavailable to them, especially after exhausting conventional cancer treatments.

We offer a robust precision medicine program that provides patients with the education and assistance they need to help with any financial barriers they may have. Since 2016, our locations in Chicago, Atlanta and Phoenix have conducted more than 15,000 next-generation sequencing tests, and over the last eight years, we have enrolled over 700 patients into precision medicine-based clinical trials. Our research team is dedicated to ensuring patient safety and a positive patient experience, continuously measuring our safety event rates, performing better than available national benchmarks.
