Whether newly diagnosed or at an early or advanced stage of cancer, patients can request an appointment to meet with an expert in medical oncology, radiation oncology or hematologic oncology at our Downtown location. During the initial consultation, the oncologist will discuss whether additional tests or scans may be required, while walking patients through the next recommended steps in their treatment journey. Our cancer experts work with patients to develop a personalized treatment plan based on their specific cancer type and stage, while also taking into account the patient’s personal beliefs and goals.
Our Downtown Chicago location offers onsite image-guided radiation therapy and infusion therapy treatment options, including chemotherapy, hormone therapy and other intravenous and injectable treatments. With extended treatment hours and a convenient location just off of Michigan Avenue, our Downtown Chicago outpatient location offers patients the option to receive these treatments close to home or work.
Our hematologic oncologist, an expert in blood cancers, has over 20 years’ experience treating patients in the Chicagoland area. Patients requiring chemotherapy, hormone therapy or targeted therapy for blood cancer may receive treatment in our Downtown location. Should they require more advanced services, such as stem cell transplantations or CAR T therapy, they have access to our network hospital in Zion, Illinois.
Should patients require specialty surgery services, such as breast, urologic or gynecologic cancer surgeries, they can receive that care at our Zion, Illinois, hospital, located approximately 10 miles east of I-94 in northeastern Lake County. Our multidisciplinary team of surgeons is trained in several disciplines, including oncoplastic breast reconstruction, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and neurosurgery.
At City of Hope Cancer Care Downtown Chicago, we provide an integrative approach to cancer care, which treats the disease with radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and other treatments while also supporting patients’ strength, stamina and quality of life with evidence-informed options, such as nutritional support and behavioral health services. Supportive therapies like this help manage this important aspect of the cancer experience, so patients are better able to stay on their treatment regimens and avoid delays or interruptions in care.
City of Hope Cancer Care Downtown Chicago is conveniently located just off Michigan Avenue in the Streeterville neighborhood. Parking is available at the Cityfront Garage located at 240 Upper E. Illinois St., just east of our location. Pedestrian elevators are in the southwest corner of the garage. Once you exit the garage, walk west on Illinois Street and cross St. Clair Street. The entrance to the outpatient care center will be on your right. Our staff will validate parking for the CityFront Garage after your appointment(s) for the day are complete.
