Know Your Insurance and Financial Options

Knowing your insurance and financial options is an important part of your overall care and treatment. The information on this page will help you understand the financial aspects of your treatment and provides options for managing your insurance and payments.

Financial Assistance

City of Hope® understands that treating cancer can be costly — often due to expenses related to time away from work and care for dependents. Our social services, payment programs and financial counselors can help make these cancer-related costs more manageable and lessen their impact.

Sometimes, you and your loved ones have substantial financial needs and cannot afford care. In that case, you may be eligible for assistance under City of Hope's Financial Assistance Policy and Patient Discounts and Free Services Policy.

Insurance We Accept

We recognize that each patient’s medical situation and insurance coverage is unique. Although there’s no guarantee of coverage, you should ask your insurance provider to review your request with City of Hope. Even if your plan doesn’t cover care at City of Hope, you can still ask your insurance company to authorize treatment with us.

While we welcome any questions you have, know that you’ll need to speak directly to your insurance company about your specific coverage. You can usually find a contact number on your insurance card or in your benefits book.

At City of Hope, we accept a wide range of insurance and coverage types, including PPO, Covered California, HMO and Medicare. The button below provides a complete list of the coverage types we accept.

Covered California

This state-run health insurance marketplace offers both individuals and families the option of purchasing plans through Covered California or off-exchange.
