Through architectural design and visual experiences, the Anthony F. Markel Family Museum invites guests to slow down, explore deeply and witness the evolution of one of the world’s leading medical institutions. Through interactive storytelling and atmospheric installations, the museum chronicles City of Hope’s extraordinary legacy and highlights the renowned researchers, clinicians and patients who have shaped it.

Located at the heart of the City of Hope Cancer Center Duarte campus, the Anthony F. Markel Family Museum is housed in the Kaplan Family Pavilion, which spans two architecturally distinct buildings, each offering a unique perspective on City of Hope’s past, present and future. Arranged around a circular courtyard, the buildings create a harmonious flow between indoor galleries and the surrounding landscape, enhancing the contemplative experience and inviting visitors to reflect on their own journeys.
