City of Hope’s Mobile Cancer Prevention and Screening Program

One in two Californians will be diagnosed with cancer in his or her lifetime. And the outcome of their diagnosis often depends on whether the disease was caught early. That’s why City of Hope is bringing cancer and disease prevention services directly to you with our mobile screening and prevention clinic.

The City of Hope mobile clinic offers qualifying clients state-of-the-art screening services for multiple cancer types, specific genetic disorders, sexually transmitted infections that may increase cancer risk and other conditions. Mobile clinic clients also have access to City of Hope’s world-renowned clinical trials and research programs, lauded for pioneering technologies that have led to breakthrough treatments used around the world.

Mobile Screening Program Services

City of Hope’s mobile screening program offers a variety of lab tests to assess your overall health. Qualifying clients include those who meet age and risk guidelines established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and other agencies. The program also offers:

  • Lab tests intended to detect specific viruses or substances that may raise the risk of cancer
  • Genetic tests designed to detect hereditary cancer syndromes or genetic abnormalities linked to cancer and other diseases
  • Cancer-prevention vaccines for qualifying clients

Our mobile screening program assesses your risk for a wide range of cancer types, including:

  • Certain brain cancers

We Make It Easy to Access Your Mobile Clinic Test and Screening Results

You can view your results on the MyCityofHope patient portal, or you can choose to receive them by phone or email.

Through MyCityofHope, you also can: 

  • Access medical records
  • Review your medical history
  • Check your current medications
  • Communicate with your team
  • Pay bills
  • Schedule future appointments
  • Visit a City of Hope doctor virtually

City of Hope will work with each patient to understand his or her insurance coverage and, when appropriate, will submit claims to insurance. Patients may also apply for one-time financial assistance through our institutional policy.

The availability of your test results depends on a variety of factors, including the type of test or screening procedure you had.

You may choose to receive results via the convenient MyCityofHope portal, or you may receive their test and screening results by phone or email. If you receive a positive finding on your screening tests, a nurse navigator will guide you through the possible next steps of the diagnostic process and provide appropriate resources. However, you are not obligated to receive any additional care at City of Hope. Please talk to our mobile clinic staff about the best options for you.
