National Leader in Blood Cancer, Here in Northern Illinois
For more than three decades, City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, located in Lake County, Illinois, partway between Chicago and Milwaukee, has offered leading-edge care to patients in Illinois, Wisconsin and nearby Midwestern states, including Minnesota and Michigan. The hematologic oncology experts at our Chicago-area Blood Cancer Center treat all types of blood cancer, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and myeloproliferative disorders. As part of a national network that has one of the largest bone marrow and stem cell transplantation programs in the country and decades pioneering innovations in hematologic cancers, City of Hope Cancer Center provides you access to some of the nation’s top subspecialists here in the Midwest, with appointments available in as little as 24 hours.
Blood Cancer Care at Our Chicago-Area Locations
Our team of hematologic oncologists are experts in diagnosing and treating cancers of the blood, also known as hematologic malignancies. As a patient at our Blood Cancer Center, you will work with an integrated team of physicians who, depending on your diagnosis, may include chemotherapy and radiation therapy specialists and experts in bispecific antibodies, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR T) cell therapy and immunotherapy. We also have a dedicated Illinois bone marrow and stem cell transplant team with deep expertise in performing these leading-edge and potentially lifesaving procedures.
In addition to the clinical team members you’ll see at your appointments, our expert onsite pathologists work diligently to expediate your care, turning laboratory test results around in as little as 48 hours so you can begin your treatment — or verify your diagnosis if seeking a second opinion — within days, not weeks.
When you choose to come to one of our Illinois City of Hope locations for diagnosis and treatment or for a second opinion, our team will take time to answer all your questions and work with you to create a personalized care plan, which also may include supportive care services to help manage treatment side effects and improve your quality of life. With the power of a multidisciplinary team behind you, you’ll be supported at every step of your cancer journey, through treatment and beyond.
Stem Cell Transplantation in Illinois
Our City of Hope Illinois Hospital is the only location midway between Chicago and Milwaukee to offer the full spectrum of transplant services.

Based on a recent analysis by the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research®, City of Hope Cancer Center’s one-year survival rate of allogeneic transplantations (transplants performed with blood stem cells from donors) is better than expected compared to similar patients transplanted throughout the nation.
