Marlon Kleinman, M.D., is a hematologist-oncologist with over 25 years’ experience in his field. As a physician at City of Hope® Cancer Center North Shore in Illinois, Dr. Kleinman treats patients diagnosed with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, incorporating the latest in leading-edge therapies as well as precision medicine approaches such as advanced genomic testing.
Triple board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology, Dr. Kleinman believes in a whole-person approach to cancer care that treats each patient as an individual with a unique diagnosis and his or her own health goals and needs. He incorporates investigative medicine into his practice and is committed to improving cancer prevention programs and his patients’ quality of life during and after treatment.
Dr. Kleinman completed most of his training in Chicago, first earning his medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School, then completing a residency in internal medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center, where he was also named chief resident. After a three-year hematology-oncology fellowship at Northwestern University, he spent nearly three decades treating both blood cancers and solid tumors in and around Chicago.
A dedicated teacher, Dr. Kleinman has worked as an instructor at many Chicago-based institutions as well as a stint at St. George's University in London, England. He has presented nationally on his research, which includes work on liquid biopsies, genetic counseling and risk assessment for hereditary cancers, and has been published in prestigious medical journals, including Blood.
