What Sets Our Chicago Lung Cancer Program Apart?
City of Hope Chicago’s Lung Cancer Center combines innovation in cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment with personalized and compassionate care. As a patient with us, you will have access to:
Our Rapid Lung Nodule Diagnostic Program, which provides an accurate lung cancer diagnosis and treatment plan in as little as one week — because lung cancer won’t wait, but if it’s caught before it spreads, the likelihood of surviving five years or more improves to 63%
Robotic bronchoscopy via Ion by IntuitiveTM, a minimally invasive technology that helps your physicians obtain precise biopsies from hard-to-reach places, even from very small lesions, using an ultra-thin catheter with fiber-optic camera
Advanced genomic testing, which personalizes cancer treatment down to the DNA by uncovering genomic mutations — unique to your individual tumor — and matching them to therapies known to target those mutations
Precision medicine options, such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy, designed to treat your cancer based on the results of genomic and other tests, with expedited turnaround times on test results and access to medications
Clinical trials, carefully selected by our Lung Cancer Center team, that span immunotherapy, chemotherapy, interventional pulmonology and more
Minimally invasive and lung-sparing surgical techniques, which use smaller incisions and involve removing less tissue
Magnet®-designated nurse navigators, who will answer your questions and help you navigate your cancer treatment from day one
Supportive care experts who can suggest ways to manage the physical and emotional side effects of undergoing lung cancer treatment
Access to the nation’s top subspecialists through case reviews and tumor boards, to provide optimal information sharing
