Powered by a world-renowned, National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in California, City of Hope Chicago’s breast cancer team offers extensive expertise in a variety of treatment modalities, including minimally invasive and oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and targeted approaches such as immunotherapy and hormone therapy. Our clinicians also work closely with specialized teams to provide emotional support and prevent and manage treatment side effects, including hair loss and lymphedema.

Dr. Poosarla is the director of medical oncology for the breast program, specializing in treating breast cancer with leading-edge therapies.
Dr. Winchester is a surgical oncologist with nearly three decades of surgical experience, including procedures for breast, skin and thyroid cancers.
Dr. Shah is Chief of Radiation Oncology. He specializes in radiation therapy for a variety of cancers, and is skilled in hypofractionated approaches.
Dr. Bhakta specializes in oncoplastic breast cancer surgery, which combines traditional breast cancer surgery with reconstructive plastic surgery techniques.
Dr. Farrington specializes in the treatment of multiple cancers, including breast and lung cancer, and is involved in clinical trial research to help advance cancer care.
Dr. Smorowski provides radiation therapy for cancer patients. A breast cancer survivor herself, she has served as principal investigator for several radiation oncology clinical trials.
Dr. Pelletier is an expert in complex and minimally invasive surgical techniques for reconstruction of parts of the body.
Dr. Liu specializes in all forms of breast reconstruction, as well as microsurgical procedures for lymphedema treatment.
