Allison Murray, M.D., is a board-certified breast surgical oncologist and assistant clinical professor of surgery at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, where she offers patients access to a wide range of surgical treatment options for breast cancer, including nipple-sparing mastectomy and advanced oncoplastic procedures.
In her work with patients, Dr. Murray takes a patient-first, compassionate approach to care. Her goal is to empower patients to make treatment decisions based on their health goals and wishes, as well as their unique diagnosis. She is also committed to de-escalating care strategies whenever appropriate and to ensuring that patients are happy with the end result of any breast surgery.
Dr. Murray earned her medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, where she also completed a residency in general surgery. She finished her training at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., with a specialized fellowship in breast surgical oncology. In addition to being trained in advanced robotic surgery techniques, Dr. Murray is an advocate for addressing racial and socioeconomic disparities in health care and global medicine.
A member of professional organizations such as the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Dr. Murray has participated in several volunteer initiatives offering free health care to underserved communities and educating school-age children on health-related topics.
