Niroshan Kirupananthan, M.D., considers the opportunity to help improve his patients’ quality of life to be the most satisfying part of his work as a physician. He strives to make a difference for his patients and their families, with his guiding credo being to treat them as if they were his own family.
Dr. Kirupananthan attended Saint James School of Medicine and completed postgraduate training as a resident in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.
Before City of Hope, Dr. Kirupananthan worked with Monarch Healthcare in Orange County, California, as a hospitalist at Providence Mission Hospital and Saddleback Memorial Care. His previous experience was as a hospitalist at Dupont Hospital and site medical director at Saint Joseph Hospital, both in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He's gone on missions to Haiti, where he served the local community while expanding his skillset diagnosing and treating illnesses rarely seen in Canada or the U.S.
Fluent in Tamil, Dr. Kirupananthan enjoys being outdoors and traveling with his family.
