As chief of medicine at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, Solomon Katta, M.D., is committed to providing compassionate, personalized cancer care to patients in Chicago and the surrounding areas.
Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Katta is a hospitalist who works directly with patients and their loved ones as they navigate their cancer journeys. He focuses on helping patients manage their overall health during treatment, including taking into account how other health conditions, such as heart disease or high blood pressure, may impact which cancer therapies are best for them.
Dr. Katta earned his medical degree at St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in the Cayman Islands, then completed his residency in family medicine and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He holds an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined City of Hope in 2013 and is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society.
