Medical Students

Elective rotations offered for medical students include:

•    Diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism
•    Gynecologic oncology
•    Interventional radiology
•    Neurology
•    Neurosurgery
•    Psychiatry
•    Radiation oncology
•    Surgical oncology

We only accept medical students from schools with a valid affiliation agreement. Students interested in applying for a rotation must contact their home institution's student coordinator for affiliation information and application instructions. 

Application Information

All M.D. and D.O. students who wish to apply for an elective at City of Hope's Duarte main campus must submit their completed application to the department administrator for the desired rotation.

Requirements:

  • GME rotation administrator
  • Verification of good academic standing with approval of rotation requested
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Background check criminal clearance report from institution
  • Completed disclosure and authorization form to conduct background check
  • Copy of medical school transcript
  • Copy of valid driver's license
  • Immunization records, which include current TB test, documented two varicella, three hepatitis B, two MMR immunizations and most recent Tdap
  • Verification that student has completed HIPAA training requirements and has been instructed in OSHA safety measures and infection control precautions
  • Verification of malpractice insurance from schools verifying representative or university
  • BLS certification
  • School photo
  • Blank evaluation form required if offered a rotation

Failure to submit all application materials to the rotation administrator by the 60-day deadline or failure to provide any of the required information may result in a delay of your start date.
