A seasoned expert in hematology, bone marrow transplant (BMT) and cellular therapies, Dr. Go is dedicated to serving patients with a variety of leukemia and bone marrow disorders, often utilizing molecular profiling to provide personalized care and offering access to state-of-the-art treatment options, including stem cell transplantation, CAR T cell therapy and a range of cellular therapies. Her leadership and expertise bring invaluable resources to City of Hope Phoenix, enhancing access to innovative therapies and research for Arizona residents diagnosed with complex hematologic disorders.

Prior to joining City of Hope, Dr. Go helped establish two successful stem cell and cellular therapy programs in the Phoenix area, expanding access to critical treatments for patients with a variety of bone marrow and blood disorders.

“The field of hematology allows me to practice the best of modern medicine, deepen my understanding of the human body and provide comprehensive care and compassion to a vulnerable patient population,” Dr. Go says. “I’m grateful to be a part of the largest and one of the most successful bone marrow and stem cell transplant programs in the United States.”

Dedicated to City of Hope’s mission of expanding cancer care to patients throughout the United States, Dr. Go works closely with other researchers and physicians to offer patients access to leading-edge care and clinical trials designed to improve outcomes and reduce side effects related to stem cell transplantation and certain cellular therapies.

About Dr. Go

Dr. Go earned her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in her home country of the Philippines. After moving to the United States, she completed an internal medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she focused her research efforts on improving engraftment kinetics and studying the association of comorbidity scoring in post-transplant outcomes. She did her fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where she helped improve outcomes for high-risk elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia and poor outcomes due to challenges like comorbidity and donor availability.

As a board-certified hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Go has held clinical and research positions at multiple institutions and is an esteemed member of the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy and the American Society of Hematology.

Research Highlights

As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Go continues to conduct innovative research focused on developing bringing new treatment options into patient care. Her work has been published on topics including transplantation, cellular therapy, hematologic malignancies and transplant-related complications.

“I continue to focus on improving patient outcomes by refining our high-dose chemoradiotherapy regimens to allow for less treatment toxicity and better infectious disease prevention for the most immunocompromised of patients,” she says. “I also continue to search for ways to lessen disease-specific mortality, especially for patients with the highest risk of relapse.”

Collaborate with Dr. Go

Dr. Go looks forward to continuing to collaborate with colleagues and academics to bring City of Hope’s patient-centered approach and leading-edge personalized care to more Arizona patients diagnosed with hematologic malignancies. Dr. Go welcomes collaboration opportunities with other physicians through referrals and continues to be interested in emerging lines of research to help improve patient outcomes, advance treatment methodologies and address complex cases of hematologic malignancies.
