Our surgical oncologists and surgeons are highly trained in a range of surgical procedures, including:
- Robotic and minimally invasive procedures, intended to reduce scarring, surgery-related pain and shorten recovery
- Resection and debulking surgery to remove cancerous tissue
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery to reduce scarring and restore the body’s appearance and function
- Palliative surgery to reduce pain and relieve symptoms
- Biopsies to remove tissue samples to be examined by a pathologist, who determines the specific cancer type and stage

Internationally renowned liver and pancreas surgeon Gagandeep “Gaugs” Singh, M.D., F.A.C.S., is Chief of Surgical Oncology and Director of Surgical Services at City of Hope Cancer Center Phoenix.
David T. Luyimbazi, M.D., is a surgical oncologist and attending surgeon at City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix.
Dr. Andrew Kassir is a colorectal surgeon at City of Hope® Phoenix.
Dr. Paul Gellhaus is an urologic oncologist and associate clinical professor of Urology and Director of Robotic Surgery at City of Hope in Phoenix, Arizona.
