Andrew Kassir, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R., F.R.C.S.I., is a colorectal cancer surgeon at City of Hope®® Cancer Center Phoenix , where he specializes in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancers affecting the colon and the rectum. Dr. Kassir treats all stages of colorectal cancer and has wide-ranging expertise in advanced surgical options, including robotic and minimally invasive techniques designed to improve outcomes and speed up patients’ recovery.
Dr. Kassir’s philosophy as a physician is to build a trusting relationship with his patients and to educate them on their treatment options. A native Scotsman, he earned his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, then completed a general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Kassir concluded his training with a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando in Florida.
A physician-scholar, Dr. Kassir’s research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. He has also been voted by his peers as a “Top Doctor” in colorectal surgery for more than 10 consecutive years and served as a clinical instructor at numerous medical institutions.
