Hospitalist Martin V. Consunji, M.D., aims to offer patients the same type of compassionate, exceptional care that his own family members have received at City of Hope. Focusing on empathy and clear communication, he takes pride in building rapport with patients and families.
Joining the City of Hope faculty is something of a homecoming for Dr. Consunji, who participated in the 2012 Eugene and Ruth Roberts Summer Student Academy and then worked from 2015 to 2016 as a clinical research assistant with Dan J. Raz, M.D., M.A.S., co-director of City of Hope’s Lung Cancer and Thoracic Oncology Program. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, where he was honored with the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award for Scholastic Achievement as one of the top graduating seniors in his class. During his medical education at University of California San Francisco, he conducted an evaluation of a longitudinal subspecialty clinic program for internal medicine residents that was published in the journal Medical Education Online.
Outside of work, Dr. Consunji enjoys long-distance running, watching sports, listening to live music, going to Disneyland, spending time with loved ones and traveling the world.
