Gynecologic Cancer Care in Phoenix

At the Gynecologic Cancer Center at City of Hope Phoenix, experts treat your specific gynecologic cancer using standard-of-care and, when appropriate, innovative precision medicine treatments.

The clinicians at the Gynecologic Cancer Center are trained to provide a variety of cancer treatments, including:

  • Surgery immunotherapy
  • Targeted therapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Chemotherapy

The team at the Gynecologic Cancer Center is also committed to working with women to assess their risk for cancer, screen for the disease and provide a fast and accurate diagnosis.

The clinicians at the Gynecologic Cancer Center work with you to assess risk factors, such as a family history of cancer, and lifestyle choices, such as smoking, that may increase your risk of a gynecologic cancer. We can help you develop strategies and make choices to reduce your risk of cancer, a secondary cancer or cancer recurrence.

City of Hope has developed the Risk Management Tool (RMT) to help you determine whether you’re at an elevated risk of developing cervical, ovarian or other common cancers. It only takes a few minutes to answer some basic questions about yourself, your family history and your lifestyle. Once you’ve finished answering the questions, the RMT checks your risk for cancer and offers you an action plan to help you manage your risk and determine whether further tests or other interventions may be recommended. Try the Risk Management Tool today.

Our doctors also use a variety of standard-of-care diagnostic tools and tests to confirm a diagnosis and to stage your disease, including:

  • Pelvic exam, which may include a Pap test
  • Colposcopy to examine the cervix
  • Biopsies, including a sentinel lymph node biopsy to determine whether cancer has spread to the nearby lymphatic system
  • Imaging tests, such as a computed tomography (CT) scan, positron emission tomography (PET)/CT scan, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Lab and genomic testing to look for tumor markers or DNA alterations
