As a hematologist and medical oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Gilbert, Sumana Veeravelli, M.D., works with patients with a wide range of cancer types and blood disorders, with a special interest in breast cancer and genitourinary cancers. She believes in a compassionate approach to care that incorporates innovative treatment options while providing individualized care centered on her patients' goals and quality of life.
Inspired to pursue cancer care by its unique combination of personal connection and scientific innovation, Dr. Veeravelli is trained in a wide range of conventional and advanced cancer treatment options, including targeted therapy, immunotherapy and hormone therapy. She earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona, then completed her Internal Medicine residency there before completing a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of California, Davis.
A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology, Dr. Veeravelli’s scholarly work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals.
