Anthony Perre, M.D., F.A.C.P., is an intake physician and board-certified internal medicine specialist at City of Hope®® Cancer Center Atlanta , where he works directly with patients admitted to our Atlanta hospital. As both a physician and a cancer survivor himself, Dr. Perre understands the important role he plays in working with patients when they’re first diagnosed and are receiving care at City of Hope Atlanta. He treats every patient with compassion and dignity, working with them and their loved ones to ensure they receive the care they need when they need it.
In addition to an interest in supporting cancer survivors, Dr. Perre is experienced in diabetic management and venous thromboembolic disease (blood clots). Prior to joining City of Hope, Dr. Perre was a hospitalist at a hospital in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the Diabetic Control Committee, helping improve protocols for managing patients’ blood sugar levels, while also serving as chairman of the hospital’s Infection Control Committee. At City of Hope, Dr. Perre has served as both chair of outpatient medicine and vice chief of staff.
Dr. Perre earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University’s College of Medicine) in Philadelphia, where he also completed his internship and residency, serving as chief resident. He’s been honored by multiple publications, including recognition by Philadelphia magazine as a “Top Doc” in internal medicine.
