Wellness Careers

At City of Hope, wellness isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are. We’re only as strong as the collective well being of our patients and ourselves in all areas of life – body, mind, and spirit.

Body

City of Hope is a holistic assemblage of ambassadors of health and wellness for those we serve. It is our priority to enable City of Hope employees to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.

You’ll experience this commitment in the healthy eating options provided in our cafeterias and vending machines, in our smoking cessation support program, and in our guided meditation sessions. We make it easy for you to join in a wide range of physical activities, including basketball, running, and volleyball teams, as well as yoga and zumba classes. Enjoy our employee gym or use your employee discount at convenient local gyms. The aim is the same; your wellness is the foundation of our strength.

Mind

A reputation for relentless innovation is no accident. It requires an intellectual rigor in each of us that must be perpetually honed and refreshed. In addition to enjoying our vibrant atmosphere of collaboration among the finest minds and talents in science and medicine, employees are strongly encouraged to take part in our tuition reimbursement program and professional development opportunities.

City of Hope is especially proud of our Diversity Resource Groups which team members have spontaneously envisioned and created. These groups encourage diversity and inclusion, facilitate networking, and support community involvement in ways that enable our people to meet the mission of City of Hope more fully. City of Hope exists as a fertile place for growing strong minds and inter-relationships. Our team members do the planting and nourishing.

Spirit

City of Hope recognizes that physical and mental wellness must be naturally aligned with the nurture of the soul. City of Hope provides this nurture to its employees through the development of individual, family, and community service programs.

Our Employee Assistance program provides a wide range of services to our community at no cost, from day care referrals and parenting skills to stress management, conflict resolution, and grief counseling. We offer an adoption assistance program, a blood donation program, and community mentoring opportunities. Additionally, we aim to strengthen our community through our Bring Your Child to Work Day, which seeks to develop strong bonds while encouraging the next generation to understand our work and our mission.
