Qi Yang, D.O.

For anesthesiologist Qi Yang, D.O., her calling as a physician derived from her lifelong fascination with the workings of the human body. Her approach to care is to treat patients as though they are her own family members and work with each one to develop a plan that meets their individual needs.

Dr. Yang’s specialty encompasses interventional pain management. She served as chief resident during her postgraduate training in anesthesiology at SUNY Upstate University Hospital, where she was active in projects aiming to improve the quality of patient care.

Raised not far from City of Hope’s Los Angeles campus, Dr. Yang finds inspiration in the organization’s motto, “There is no profit in curing the body if, in the process, we destroy the soul.” Her pastimes away from the clinic include cooking, international travel, enjoying music and theatre, and visiting museums.
