Sandy Liu, M.D.
Sandy Liu, M.D., has made it her mission to improve the lives of cancer patients by taking care of people in a meaningful way and advancing the field of medical oncology as a clinical researcher. She makes sure to treat all of her patients as though they were members of her own family.
Dr. Liu earned her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. During her final year, she participated in a medical mission to rural China, where she performed cardiovascular screening and distributed medications. She completed an internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. Dr. Liu’s fellowship training in oncology/hematology was completed at UCLA, where she served as chief fellow during her final year and transitioned to roles as clinical instructor and, more recently, assistant clinical professor.
At City of Hope Orange County, her specialties include cancers of the kidney, prostate, bladder, testicles and urethra. Her research interests include immunotherapy and drug development.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Liu enjoys free time spent hiking, riding her bike, reading, dining out and traveling.
