At City of Hope, we are committed to helping you and your loved ones manage your diabetes. Patients have access to our extensive team of supportive care experts, registered dietitians and educators, who will help you and your caregivers achieve and maintain a better quality of life during and after your diabetes treatment.
Living with Diabetes
We can help with all of these concerns, and provide support for:
- Education on proper diet, exercise and lifestyle changes to help manage diabetes, obesity and prediabetes
- Training sessions to manage the condition through new diabetes technologies, such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps
- Strategies to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in diabetes patients
- Physical and occupational therapy to help manage challenges stemming from diabetic neuropathy
- Caregiver support for those who may need to monitor blood sugar levels, inject insulin and manage other aspects of diabetes care
- Working alongside eye care experts who help screen and manage complications like diabetic retinopathy
- Behavioral health resources to help with family, school or work stress
- Navigating the health care system, including related legal and financial issues
