The COH-PC SRSP provides underrepresented minority Pomona College students a unique combination of laboratory, academic and professional skill development, designed to facilitate success in biomedicine. Scholars complete an independent research project on a significant problem in biomedicine, which allows them to fully leverage their curiosity and develop critical thinking skills. In addition, scientific presentation and writing instruction enable the scholars to become more effective at communicating complex topics in preparation for entry into their field of endeavor. The program also provides an introduction to the various facets of the biomedical employment landscape and helps lay the foundation for maximizing success as a doctoral student and scientific professional.
